“We have read and totally enjoyed The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Even though we all live on an island (Oahu), we all want to go visit the Channel Islands and "walk the book". We also had a great time discussing which actors would play which characters from the book. You just can't talk about the book without a smile on your face.” More Discussible Book Choices “We just finished reading The Doctor's Wife, and it was our most interesting discussion in many years!” “We just read In the Lake of the Woods by Tim O'Brien. We try to support Minnesota authors, and this book dealing with post-traumatic stress syndrome hit home with those of us with military connections past and present. As with her first book, The Expected One, we had a passionate, lengthy and involved discussion. Ms. McGowan's books shed new light on some widely held beliefs, causing us to wonder if just maybe there is much more "herstory" that needs to be added to our history. Provocative and engrossing...we can't wait for the third book!” “Last month our group read Loving Frank about Frank Lloyd Wright and his mistress. Several of us, including myself, were not so eager to read it as we thought we had read enough about Wright. However this book was amazing in showing a whole new side of his work and his personal life. We had a really delightful couple of hours discussing these two very complex people.” “We received 12 copies of Firefly Lane in a drawing. We had a very good discussion about Tully and Kate's personalities and how their relationship changed and still managed to last over the years. We related to many issues that created discussion and voiced a variety of opinions regarding friendships, mother/daughter relationships, careers versus stay at home Moms, jealousy, anger, forgiveness, love, marriage and parenting.”
