Frozen Man Mocha Delight
An Ice Cream Recipe by Stephen P. Kiernan,
author of The Curiosity
The Curiosity is a powerful debut novel in which a man, frozen in the Arctic ice for more than a century, awakens in the present day and finds the greatest discovery is love. In this “thought-provoking” debut novel, author Stephen P. Kiernan answers the question, “What if the love of your life died decades before you were born?” There’s plenty of food for thought in that proposition alone, but Kiernan, a man of many talents, also offers his readers this ice cream recipe. Here it is; the headnote is in his own words.
When Dr. Kate Philo’s research ship finds a man in the ice, she orders the freezer to be emptied. Dixon (a science writer observing board the ship) talks about everyone eating tons of ice cream. Thus, I send you "Frozen Man Mocha Delight." It requires a home-sized sorbet/ice cream maker (mine's from Cuisinart but any kind will do).
*Makes 1+ quart. Enjoy with your favorite scientist or reawakened sweetheart.
